At the begining of the year I said 2020 will be my year, I made plans where to go and what to visit… but as anyone know, 2020 brought the new coronavirus Covid-19, which put some countries in lockdown. Every night when I go to sleep I hope to wake up to a new day without this nightmare. People are staying home, which is a good thing and finally eath is breathing, so I belive a good thing comes out of this tremendous situation. As I am self-isolating as well, I thought to clean and reorder my pictures and documents on my hdd. As I was looking in folders I found the pictures I took when I visited Cinque Terre.
Italy is a beautiful country in her boot shape, I have been in Venice and two years ago I went in Levanto and from there I visited the five villages on the costal area within Linguria, in the northwest of Italy. Since I’ve been to Venice I always wanted to see these villages. I always imaged how these would look like, but was nothing compared to the view I have seen.
As me and my friend wanted to see more of the views and do the trail, we decided to walk insted of taking the train to all the villages. And so we did, we walked and we climbed, and the views were breathtaking so as the trail. We have seen wine yards with delicious grapes, olives tree and oranges in baskets. It was a really lovely trip and the food was amazing, I do recommend to find the local restaurants, not the ones with fancy review on their doors.
Coming back to nowadays, I hope everything will get back to normal soon, but for that we all have to be responsable for our own and others health. We have to keep our positivity high, and do not let the fear to control us, because together we are strong and together we can overcome this virus which already has made lots of victims. I can’t wait for the day when all of this will be over beacuse I really want to go back to Italy, to Cinque Terre, Vieste, to see all Tuscany area. Since I heard ‘Dean Martin - That’s Amore’ I felt in love with Italy and I made myself a promise that I will visit this wonderful country and I will.
My thoughts are going to Italy, get well soon! Here are my moments.
Love, Carmen
