I have celebrated my 30th birthday in the beautiful city of Seville, Spain. The City of Flamenco, with its architectural influence blend of Moorish/Arabian and Gothic is absolutely amazing and is bursting with antique charm. I was stunned by the Alcazar Palace with its collage of arhictectural styles, that for a moment I had the feeling I was in Morocco, which I haven’t visited but is on my list.
Every single part of Spain is so different that you think you are in a different country each time you visit a city, except for the food. Every time when I visit one of Spain’s cities I have to eat pan con tomate, is a traditional food of Catalan, Valencian, Aragonese, Balearic and Murcian cuisines in Spain. It is absolutely delicious and so easy to make, you just need bread, olive oil, ripe tomatoes for the best possible flavour and some garlic and there you have an amazing breakfast. I am not a chef and I don’t like to cook that often, but when I do, I like to try all the different dishes from Italy and Spain which are my favourites.
They say that the weather is always sunny (perhaps too much sun), and because of the heat from 12:00pm till 3:00pm everything is closed.
While you visit this charming city I definately recommend to see a live Flamenco show in the first Flamenco Museum in the world. Get lost in Barrio Santa Cruz, let Plaza de España conquer your heart, it really got mine as I visited twice that time. From the top of Metropol Parasol, known locally as Las Setas (the mushrooms), you got some of the best view and surely one of the best sunsets in Seville, that’s what they say. I have only saw the sunset from the top of our airbnb fllat.
What can I say except that I hope you will enjoy my point of view of this enchanted city, I definately wanna go back there someday.
Love,
Carmen
